Resort Sales Manager

Virginia | Mountain Resort


Schloss & Associates is seeking a dynamic, experienced hospitality Sales Manager with marketing to join our team for a unique, and rapidly growing mountain resort in Virginia. Golf, outdoor sporting, and marketing experience are advantages.     

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The ability to generate revenue: conduct prospecting sales calls; follow-up on leads and referrals; maintain regular contact with key contacts, group targets, agents, etc.

  • Follow best practices to ensure resort is meeting REVPAR and revenue goals

  • Book new business through proactive solicitation, in-person appointments and attend industry trade shows / events as a representative of the resort

  • Participate in community organizations/events, i.e., CVB, Chamber, Association…

  • Leverage resort’s memberships in various marketing and hospitality organizations

  • Manage property site tours

  • Work closely and effectively with all departments directly serving group clientele

  • Maintain a familiarization with competition in the marketplace

  • Knowledge of SMS and Delphi systems required / input and create all sales documents and records for clients, inquiries, proposals, bookings, contracts, correspondence and reports

  • Maintain accurate account files and records of all customer contacts Prepare daily sales reports detailing all sales activity and month end recap of sales efforts

  • Coordinate and execute sales initiatives and blitzes

  • Assist senior management with producing and executing annual sales and marketing plans

  • Assist DOSM with Group Marketing efforts as needed – promotions, collateral, social media, advertising, and emails.

  • Assist with ensuring all sales collateral is current, accurate and portrays a professional image Respond to additional sales-related needs at the direction of the DOSM

  • Able to maintain dialogue and a cooperative working relationship with other departments

  • Ability to assist Conference Service Manager with Group Event as needed – may require evenings and some weekends


REQUIREMENTS

  • 5 + years prior hotel/resort sales experience with some group sales marketing experience with a proven track record of accomplishment

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Able to work both independently and as a part of a team

  • Must be able to travel for sales events

  • Self-motivated with a high degree of initiative

  • Intermediate word processing and database skills

  • Strong guest service ethic

  • Possession of a valid driver’s license
