Resort Restaurant Manager

Essential Functions

  • Provide leadership in the daily operation of resort’s signature restaurant, with a particular focus on dinner service. 

  • Utilize advanced knowledge of luxury hospitality service and beverage alcohol to maintain and elevate the standards of service and the beverage alcohol program in elements, with the aim of attaining a Forbes Five Star rating. 

  • Provide managerial and leadership skills to assist in the organization and execution of Food and Beverage department functions, including communication skills to communicate within the department and across departments. 

  • Utilize financial acumen and entrepreneurial drive to operate elements in a profit-maximizing manner, while also providing luxury-quality genuine hospitality. 

Requirements 

  • Five years’ experience in a luxury hospitality fine-dining restaurant, ideally in a resort setting. 

  • Wide-ranging familiarity with the principles of luxury hospitality and food and beverage products, concepts, and trends.

  • Experience with Forbes Fives star standards. 

  • Highly developed knowledge of beverage alcohol – Certified Sommelier, preferably Advanced Sommelier. 

  • High school diploma – college diploma preferred.

  • Highly developed leadership and communication skills.

  • Ability to use a computer for functions such as the Microsoft Office programs.

  • Familiarity with reservations management systems, and the ability to use or to learn how to use resort POS software. 

  • Be detail-oriented and be able to manage and prioritize multiple responsibilities.

  • Ability to maintain composure under stressful and high-paced environments.

  • Availability on nights, weekends, and holidays.

  • Ability to work a schedule determined by the tasks at hand, until the job is done. 

  • Desire to live and work in a remote area of the Blue Ridge Mountains, where winter weather conditions are common.

  • Ability to left, bend, safely lift and move objects such as chairs and tables. Able to work a shift where you are standing and moving for 10 or more hours per day. 

  • Have a positive attitude and be motivated to spread a culture of cooperation.
